Good news for EU travellers to the UK
Travel Quarantine free
There’s some very good news for EU travellers to the UK today! As of 4.00 am on Monday 2 August 2021, fully vaccinated people will be able to travel from amber countries in Europe and from the USA without having to quarantine on arrival.
However, you must be doubly vaccinated with an approved vaccine authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Europe and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in America. You can also stay in the UK without having to quarantine if you are in the Swiss vaccination programme.
You will still need to take a Covid test before you leave your home country. You’ll also have to take a PCR test (Polymerase Chain Reaction Test) on or before day 2 of your arrival. There’s now more good news if you want to travel from France. From 4.00 am on Sunday 8 August the same rules apply and fully vaccinated visitors will not have to quarantine.
If you’re coming from the US, you will also need proof of residency in America.
I’m looking forward to seeing all my European students again, so don’t forget to get in touch and let me know when you’re arriving!
If you’re coming to work in the UK, particularly in the hospitality industry, then it’s worth looking at this reading lesson about Covid Hygiene regulations in hotels and restaurants.
