Along with the GESE, IELTS for UKVI is used as a Secure English Language test for Permanent Residency and UK Citizenship.

This exam also tests speaking and listening skills to CEFR B1 level (IELTS band 4). The level of competency will allow people to live, work or study in the United Kingdom.

There are two different IELTS exams used to obtain a UK Visa for Citizenship or Permanent Leave to Remain, they are:

    • IELTS Life Skills at B1
    • IELTS band 4 in Speaking and Listening

Preparation for IELTS UKVI

A five day open access course to prepare for ILETS UKVI speaking and listening exam. This programme includes:

    • Introduction to the two parts of the exam, marking criteria and pass level requirements.
    • Analysis familiar topics and associated language.
    • Recorded speaking practise and role play.
    • Focus on speaking skills, listening skills and pronunciation.
    • Recorded mock exam for each student.
    • Advice and guidance on areas of weakness.
    • Resources and activities to improve performance.
    • Practice materials.
    • Exam preparation pack.
