The OET has been adopted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Medical Council, NHS Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups as the appropriate English qualification for medical and care staff.
Like IELTS, it assesses ability in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. The leading medical governing bodies have recognised that OET is unique in that it offers:

The English Teacher is a Premium Preparation Provider of OET, accredited by the OET examining board. Our in-house programme delivers an intensive short course prior to sitting the OET which enables the candidate to:

- Communicate naturally in an appropriate manner with patients, their care givers and families.
- Convey written and spoken information to colleagues effectively and professionally.

Placement Test
Assess student ability and language level appropriate for the exam and includes:

- Delivery and invigilation of reading test.
- Delivery and invigilation of writing test.
- Delivery and invigilation of speaking test recorded on camera with interlocutor.
- Delivery and invigilation of listening test.
- 1.5 hour assessment of placement test by invigilator and samples verified by qualified teacher.
- Report on level of English as evidenced by placement test.

- Assessment of the review and samples verified by a qualified teacher.

- 1.5 hour assessment of placement test by invigilator and samples verified by qualified teacher.
- Individual learning plan based on student progress including revision timetable.
