Industry Experience

Working in your industry sector in an English speaking environment can be problematic. While the main tasks may be similar, systems and procedures will be be different. There will be unfamiliar expressions and vocabulary which may cause misunderstanding.

We recognise this problem and wherever possible, we place our students in carefully selected companies and organisations appropriate to their career. These one-day minimum work observations allow students to shadow a staff member of a similar level to understand exactly how things work in a UK company.

This gives the student:

• • Awareness of UK working procedures.
  • Confidence to work in an English speaking organisation.
  • Experience of formal and informal communication in a chosen industry.
  • Meaningful interaction with English speaking colleagues.

Support Package

We also offer a one-day workshop on interview skills, with a focus on speaking, listening and pronunciation.
