GT IELTS – The English Teacher Case Study for Skilled Worker Visa

Zanele and Mlu are actors and singers from South Africa and perform in Disney Theatre Production’s The Lion King. They had both tried and failed several times to pass their General Training IELTS, which they needed for their Skilled Worker Visa.

I was asked by the Production Education Lead to provide a comprehensive IELTS course which covered reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Over several months we worked together to improve their proficiency, particularly in reading and writing. They were also introduced to IELTS exam strategies to help them understand the different question types and answer requirements.

Both students successfully passed their GT IELTS on their first attempt after our training course. They are now both looking forward to receiving their UK work visas and starting rehearsals.
